Edward enjoys a varied career as a freelance trumpet player, ranging from early music to appearances with orchestras, contemporary music ensembles, big bands, shows and solo recitals.  He has performed as a soloist in Britain, France and Belgium with several chamber orchestras including the Camerata of London.  He is regularly to be seen in a wig and tights at Hampton Court Palace giving presentations on the natural trumpet and he makes an appearance as an Elizabethan court musician in the film The Golden Age (starring Cate Blanchett); other period instrument work has included appearances with the Brook Street Band and 18th Century Concert Orchestra.  Edward is a founder member of the quintet Mardi Brass which has toured throughout Britain and appeared on national radio and TV.  The group recently recorded the second instalment of a four-CD project.  Edward has also recorded with Ixion and New Music Players.  He has musically directed three pantomimes from the piano and arranged and composed music for several shows; his music has also been published by Spartan Press and Warwick Music.  He lives in Surrey with his wife and four children.
