Patrick Bailey (conductor) is Music Director of The Opera Group, with whom he has conducted numerous tours including Peter Maxwell Davies' The Martyrdom of St. Magnus, Bernstein's Candide, Shostakovitch's The Nose (also arranger and co-translator), Weill's Mahagonny Songspiel and the premiere of works by Edward Rushton (at the Almeida Opera) and Tim Coker. He has conducted concerts with the English Sinfonia, ViVA, Sinfonia 21, New Music Players, Endymion and many others in London and at festivals all over the country including Aldeburgh, Brighton, Bath and York. With the New Music Players, Patrick has made recordings and broadcasts for BBC Radio and given the premieres of Ed Hughes' previous scores accompanying silent film. He teaches at the Royal College of Music and the London College of Music & Media.
